I was born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, a suburb of Dallas, and stayed in my home state to study Communications and History at Texas A&M University. Along the way, I began working at summer camps as a counselor and realized that I was passionate about working with kids. I pursued my teaching certification and taught in Texas for two years before moving on to Korea where I met my wife Becky, who teaches Economics and Psychology in the high school. We married and moved to Thailand before arriving here in India. I am now in my 8th year at AES and 14th year teaching. We have a 4-year-old daughter, Aubrey, and a 2-year-old son, Ford. Both were born here in Delhi.

I began my career as a social studies teacher because of my interest in the world. Since moving overseas, I have had the opportunity to become a literacy teacher as well. Teaching reading and writing has become a passion over the last 10 years. I was lucky to have joined AES just as we began to move towards a workshop model in our classrooms that allowed me to learn and grow as the program developed and matured. My hope is that all students will view themselves as readers and writers when they leave my class.
